Poor sports performance among school athletes is a global concern. This study explores the physical self-concept, mental toughness, and sports performance among a quota sample of 150 student-athletes. Results indicate that student-athlete respondents sometimes manifested self-concept in all four dimensions: sports competence, physical conditions, and body attractiveness. On one hand, they reported high levels of rebound ability, ability to handle pressure, concentration ability, and confidence, all considered dimensions of mental toughness in this study. Similarly, they perceived strong sports performance across all five dimensions: athlete development, mastery and development, strategy and preparedness, recovery and injury prevention, and psychological skills. Furthermore, multiple linear regression analysis highlights mental toughness as a significant influence on sports performance, emphasizing its critical role in fostering athletic success among student-athletes. Recommendations are discussed.
